Divine, charismatic and contagious are the words I would use to describe Marion Cotillard.  This French actress was born in Paris in 1975 into an artistically inclined family of actors, directors, teachers, screenwriters and even a mime, so it came as no surprise that she followed suit.  Marion quickly began her acting when she was just a child, appearing in one of her father’s plays.

She began her career in 1993 with small performances in theatres and appearances in minor roles in television shows and films such as the Highlander and “La Belle Verte”.

Marion’s breakthrough performance was said to be in Tim Burtons film Big Fish, where she appeared alongside actor Ewan McGregor. Twenty-seven movies and a couple awards later she landed a role in a 2007 film that would later establish her career. Showcasing her talents in a biographical film about the life of a famous French singer Edith Piaf.  The film won five Ceasers, one of which for Best Actress and an Academy Award. (This was the first Oscar given for a French-language role.)

She has worked on twelve films since her big debut, including the musical Nine, Inception, Midnight in Paris, Rust and Bone and the Dark Knight Rises.

Her latest movie to look out for is Blood Ties, a remake of a French thriller “Les Liens du Sang.” The star-studded cast includes Clive Owen, Mila Kunis, Zoe Saldana and Billy Crudup.

She has made her place on the Red Carpet, and in the hearts of many, we delve into the life of each of her characters and can’t wait for her next appearance.

Simply Divine.
