Pie Bar Toronto
Right from the start you had our heart, Pie Bar. Perhaps it was when we heard your rave reviews, or when we saw your located at the waterfront, but we really felt our hearts skipped a beat when we saw your amazing photos on Instagram! The patio venue facing the Toronto Waterfront played a vital role in making the venture as well. So let's share how Pie Bar Toronto actually panned out in comparison to all the inviting images on their social media.
When you walk toward the patio, you are immediately transported to a gorgeous venue that seems at first, unreal! The Toronto Waterfront has always been a favourite spot for us Torontonians. The Harbourfront, walking down Lakeshore, and seeing gliding yachts and boats dock is a pride factor for us locals. For the longest time Toronto held not one single waterfront patio; so hats off to Pie Bar for meeting the demands of the city. We absolutely loved their set up as well. Mismatched plates, bright red patio umbrellas and the instrumental music had a charming European flare. Moving on after we got seated, cutlery and decor was just pure fun!
The evening started with delicious drinks and tasty appetizers. The Fritto Misto and Fried Mozzarella Sticks were, hands down, the most delicious and filling. Hernan, our server was truly delightful. So engaged and always suggesting fun things to try on the menu. When you are at a packed restaurant, it is expected to have busy service and lots of commotion, but at Pie Bar time slows down as Hernan kept bringing treat after treat. The other soothing factor of this hustle bustle spot is that you keep breaking away from food and conversation to engulf the gorgeous sunset to your side, glare at the water glimmering, and people-watch as they are getting on and off dinner-cruise ships.
“Pizzas, pastas and more” would be an understatement! All the food seemed like it was coming out of your Nona’s kitchen in Italy- hand made with love. Of course, it was Nicole the General Manager who was bringing it over with her team...so kind as she made a quick stop at our table- this kind of service is what Toronto needs more of! Fresh herbed, thin crust warm pizzas paired with minty fresh drinks were the choices at our table. We highly recommend the Tartufo, you cannot go wrong. In pastas, the Seafood Aglio e Olio was cooked just perfect. There are additional vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options, plus a kids menu. The dessert, if you have room left, is a conservative choice between gelato or a cross between a cheesecake and a carrot cake- absolutely sweet heaven!
There are only a few days left before the weather leaves us we are recommending you go to Pie Bar as soon as you possibly can, as this is a must visit restaurant! We guarantee a lovely experience, date night, family lunch, or outing with the kids; Pie Bar check marks it all!
