Hammam Spa by Céla is a rare treasure in the city of Toronto. I am going to be honest, experiencing any spa during the pandemic would be considered- risqué. However, after visiting their gorgeous location at Bayview Village – I can assure you the hygiene and COVID protocols are given the utmost importance.

With all the stresses of lockdowns, quarantines, work from home adjustments and homeschooling, my husband and I needed a rejuvenation - pronto! We ventured out to experience the popular by demand, Hammam Turkish Bath.

Being a design and lifestyle enthusiast – let’s explore the design of the space first. Beautiful Arabian inspired accents, metal work and light fixtures embellished the spa like jewelry. The space is designed to give a modern and aesthetically pleasing environment with white marble, gold and black accents and sharp lines. The grand staircase which is the focal point acts as a staircase to another dimension. Every step we took, let us shed our worries, leave behind what was going on the outside world and truly indulge in much needed pampering.

The entire space is designed with much thought given to luxury, comfort, and an ode to eastern décor, patterns, and finishes. The steam room which is currently closed due to COVID protocols is built with Moroccan Turkish blue tiles and is stunning. The tea lounge and manicure/pedicure areas have an east Asian and Indian inspired vibe. Change rooms were lovely and practical.

The service in the Turkish suite was grand, soothing and a refreshing experience. We fell in love with the eucalyptus black soap used to stimulate and cleanse us, that we just had to buy some to take home! If you have never had a Turkish bath, I would recommend at least once if your life- go for it. The luxury of getting bathed while laying on a heated marble table with hot and cool water treatments is so unique.  The staff of Hammam Spa, both the aestheticians as well as the service team were a delight to work with.

I would go over the list of different treatments at the Hammam Spa https://hammamspa.ca/hammam-spa-menu/ and find something that fits your current needs. They have packages that can work for a girl’s night out, couples therapy or even some solo time. Whatever, you are feeling, investing in yourself is one of the best investments and the value keeps on giving -  we have baby soft skin right now!

I also love that the variety of product lines they carry, all are used in their treatments or brands that align with the authentic feel of the Hammam Spa by Céla . Here is a link to the black soap which I fell in love with… https://hammamspa.ca/shop/products/bodycare/body-washes/cela-black-soap/
